Song, Jesus said I’m His man!

AwHec8

I take my card and I stand in line,

To make a buck I work overtime,

Dear Sir; letters keep coming in the mail,

I work my back till it’s racked with pain,

The boss can’t even recall my name,

I show up late; I’m docked; it’s lame,

It never fails,

The world makes you feel like just another,

Spoke in a great big wheel,

Like a tiny blade of grass,

In Earth’s great big field,

To this world’s employers; I’m just another drone,

To Ma Bell; hell I’m just another phone,

I’m just another statistic on this Earth’s sheet,

To IRS; I’m another file,

To the World I’m just another consensus on the street,

Gonna cruise out of this city,

Head over to my Lord Jesus to see,

What it is He sees in me,

Shout out to my Love the Lord Jesus,

Please answer my plea,

And I feel like a number; feel like a number,

Feel like a stranger; a stranger in this land,

I feel like a number,

Oh I’m not a number, I’m not a number,

Jesus said I’m a believer; He said I’m His man,

He said I’m a believer; I’m a man,

Gonna cruise out of this city,

Head over to see what it is Jesus sees in me,

Gonna shout out to my Lord Jesus; hey I Love thee,

And I feel like a number; feel like a number,

Feel like a stranger; a stranger in this land,

I feel like a number,

Oh I’m not a number, I’m not a number,

Jesus said I’m a believer; He said I’m His man,

He said I’m a believer; I’m a man,

The World makes you feel like a number; Feel like a number; Feel like a number,

Forget it Jesus said I’m His man; He said I’m His man; Yes I’m His man,

Whoo hoo hoo hoo hoo,

Yes I’m marked as God’s man,

Because Jesus is the Plan,

By God’s Spirit! In His plan! In Jesus the Christ! The Truth! The Plan!

Whoo hoo hoo hoo hoo!

  • Comment from author about the poem: Just a couple of months ago I lost my older sister in this pandemic, now the oldest in my family my brother has died (the artist in the family), so am I next in line, so to speak. Being the 3rd and on home oxygen. other machines and heart meds (No I didn't smoke, just worked in the HVAC field) doesn't make it any easier either People please take Life and Death, Living and Loving with the weight it deserves or Dont. It is all on us the ones who are still alive to either be a light on a hill or not! Just a thought a theory, Don

A nice write don. I feel if we keep believing for, and thinking, negative things, they will come to us in the end, though we don't want them. And the opposite too, with positive thinking.
Though it's not positive thinking alone that helps us.

Good to see how you use Jesus here to lift you out of depression. Described it well.

Shame he allowed you to get there in the first place.
