Tree

Brimelow

Standing proud and free
She reflects the gaze of all who wander by
Whether they walk or climb or fly
A sunlit monument for all time

Glistening leaves and sheens
She channels the mist of many skies
Whether they shine or swirl or cry
A dripping refuge of rhythm and rhyme

When pink petals tumble to lake’s still waters
The ripples swim to banks unseen
Energy shifted to the life of another

When soaking soil grants home to ruby rose
The blush lights the curves of cheeks untold
Beauty gifted to the life of another

When twisting trunk seats branching bird nests
The young soar away to forests untrod
Souls lifted to the life of another

Dream awhile and wispily see
The joy life feels when you plant a tree

    Beautiful words !🙂🙂

    • Brimelow

Thank you 🙂 I have a favourite tree that I go and visit every now and again and it's about her (well kind of, admittedly my tree is not on the banks of a lake, but whatever, poetic license and all that).

It's a rather lovely day here in the UK actually, might go pay her a visit!
