Reckless

Tayama

A reckless fool...

Nary a clue...

Yet innocent as the sky is blue...

No fear of the pain of a broken heart...

Or to ever fail, then start...

To gasp at a sunrise ignored...

To tremble, yet still go through the door...

To sing out loud and smile...

All the while...

Seen as a crazy fool...

Cries when hears a song...

Wondering is she forever gone...

Sees the beauty in the brown leaves as they crunch, like a psalm...

As he watches her comb her long brown hair...

Then squints to remember his daughters face, that was just there...

Reckless in death as he falls to catch his wife...

Yet couldn't, and they left this world as one...

And left a life behind, lived, and gave all he could give...

From a reckless life...and for nothing...to atone...
