Audax

Two Souls, One Question

You became my reason,

For just one season,

Beneath these vigorous tides,

Where souls had no divides,

But I’m a lonely heart,

Flying further apart,

From my only valentine

Up in cloud nine,

As photographs fade,

Kisses would masquerade,

In a lumbering pain,

While we face the rain,

Whether you sought to die,

Or I propagated a lie,

We always spoke of forever,

Which brought us to never,

Now that time has wasted,

Through memories so jaded,

We linger onto that night,

When feelings were set right,

What we once knew,

Has bid us adieu,

Leaving us to think,

Why love would blink?

Such a question as has uncomfortably rested in the mind of many of us before we learn 'c'est la vie' and all we can do is enjoy the fruits of the fortune time.

As one harvest falls through our fingers so our hands are emptied in readiness for life's next parcel of bounty and who knows....
