L. B. Mek

A care-package, weightless and free

When starting out, imagine

looking down

from atop, what you mean to achieve

is the thin air to your taste?

Are the views as you imagined?

Can you still

that starting line perspective?

possible, fall

do you envisage

splattered mess

or sense,

handhold grip

be truthful: only you need know

of what fear and weakness

you harbour within.

Now, if your pulse is still

at the culmination of your

well then child:

lay that first foundation

but, let these words - loiter

somewhere, in that clustered mind

if you need ever

reach - for a helping hand.

You ended on a good yet affirmative note to always reach for a helping hand. The more we help each other the better!

    • L. B. Mek

      very true, thank you

No man is an island came to mind on reading these fine words ..

there are several things I admire and enjoy about your poetry my friend, for example, I particularly like that they are each individually unique and invariably contain a message for the reader ..

and in all respects, I am a fan ..

        • L. B. Mek

I was a fan of yours first!
thank you very much, my oh so generous friend

Poignant in these days when aspiring to the dizzy heights of monetary wealth is the goal for so many.
I like the way you present this so spaced out as to give TIME for your words to sink into your reader.
A firm warning of what lies ahead for most and a humane finale to remind the budding millionaire that we are all fallible but human and loving.

          • L. B. Mek

'we are all fallible but human and loving'
I want a ticket to the utopia you're picturing 🙌
thank you, for your unfaltering support

Wise advice gently given in this well-spaced climb to the top folk intend to make - - I love the outstretched hand of help as a finalé -- great read my friend.

that's my favourite part as well: the overlaying 'reach' of last two lines,
thank you for highlighting it my talented friend

Fine words LB. In our lives that reaching out can always fine a helping hand.

I totally agree Andy, togetherness is the one survival skill our evolution has perfected
                thank you
