Forgotten

Rose~

Notice of absence from Rose~
Life

Fading,

Falling,

Finding, for the day, its light

Deepened,

Darkened,

Drowning, losing your fight

Screaming,

Shouting,

Seems that you’re out of sight.

“Forgotten

You’re forgotten

Now you’ve lost your might”

Who do you think you are?

Acting like a shining star

Feeling so powerful

Although the dream is far,

We’ll reach your shining star

And I hope you’re ready

You can’t

Harm me,

I’ve been

Set free.

Flying,

To the light of hope

It may seem you’re winning

But this ain’t the ending

This is the beginning

Where you go home bleeding

You’ve set me on fire

My heart’s got a desire

You called me a liar,

But look who’s cheating

Now you’ll feel the pain

The ones I’ve lost and gained

Forgotten,

Now you’re forgotten

And forever,

You’ve lost the fight

  • Comment from author about the poem: I usually write poems when I feel heavy or down. I was left alone to make a choice and was in despair. I ended up talking to myself and ended up writing it in a poem. Hope you enjoy it

I like how this poem is written almost like the whirlwind that is changing emotions. You fade from total despair to hope here.

Life's a bumpy road, one time you go up and the other we fall down hard

While it is quite obvious the cheater is not literally forgotten, you have found the ultimate remedy (I don't want to say revenge, which implies he/she still matters way too much). "Now YOU are the one who is forgotten, and I've forgotten you so permanently I've immortalized your nothingness in this poem." Remember Achilles cared more about fame than life, and the Persian tyrant Xerxes threatened to wipe out the very memory of Sparta as the ultimate conquest. Forgetting is exactly the right touche'.

Thats a very beautiful example, and so very true
