Family Gathering.

dsouzcry

Family Gathering is more like a meeting with your team members

As you sit with them and try to mingle into their conversations you feel lost

You try your best to fit in to their topic of discussion but you’re like what the actual fuck?

Family Gatherings ends up making you feel lonely and isolated

I contemplate 100 times before speaking up

I feel jaded and absent in their conversations

Yes if there is a topic of interest I would join in.

Family Gatherings sometimes gives you joy that you might belong to an Italian mafia family.

But on a serious note, you just dozing off at one point

There’s the loud conversation going on in the kitchen area, sitting room and you’re trying really hard to understand that one person who’s creating a good conversation….

I consider family gathering may well be a competition between your relative’s offspring trying to show off their kid’s talent and hard work to one another.

Not being insolent but it’s true.

Family Gathering gives you escapism of checking your phone.

Watching TV keeps away from the gabfest.

Shhhh. I can’t understand what is happening.

At one point you want to tell them can we please get drunk… So you can know their deepest secret, but then you get frightened of creating a family feud.

Never mind! I would rather get drunk alone!

In a Family Gathering, you try to fit into your cousin’s crowd, but you fail miserably…even when you’re not trying.

Your very own cousins have the perfect stories to tell… and you have none from your end.

Every one of us is an individual and it's not surprising for people to find they are quite different to what appears to be the family norm. I dont know how old you are but be assured that as you age, so you will gain strength of character and self assurance to do, say and be just whatever you want in any company.
For now, it is wise to be quiet when feeling uncomfortable in a situation.

Very well expresed first piece from you, I hope to see more.

This is how I felt growing up, and why I am pushing away from family gatherings now. I have said time and time again that I will see the ones i care to see, but for the most part these people have nothing in common with me, and its a bore just to force myself to sit through it.
