Fury

Wilderness, engulfed beneath a fearsome sky

death tolls screaming Nature’s fury - into our reality

future’s painted bleak, with each tightening twist of 2020’s misery.

Orange horizons spotlighting our Moon scarlet

untimely Aurora, choking midnight scenes hauntingly still

draped in the horror hue of blazing wildlife.

Stay home, our mantra for surviving COVID-19

stay safe and don’t venture out - they stressed

what now for those displaced?

Will this plagued year: ever relent...

      Great Write there L.B.Mek. Don
So well written I felt as if I was back in Perris, California choking on the smoke! Just Saying

thanks a lot Don, an instinctive write and somewhat reactionary but hopefully it conveyed enough of the empathetic emotions we all have to deal with when we witness such natural disasters on our screens

      • ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGELA HERE - Good Friday Friend - Thanks for caring & sharing. Brain & I love LA one of our fave US Cities ! To see the Elegant GGBridge - on the News - with a background of flame made us both weep. We are REAPWING what we have SOWN with Global Warming & now COVID 19 a Double Whammy for H. Sapiens. We were created *Just a little lower than the Angels* so we were intelligent enough to care for the ENVIRONMENT of PLANET EARTH (The only Habitable Planet in the Solar System) - but unfortunately not RESPONSIBLE enough ! WE have messed up the Planet There is nowhere else to go so we will have to clear up the MESS. The State of California is at the TOP of our Prayer List !

Blessings & Joy & Peace to You & Yours
        Love Angela - Brian & Smokey Cat ! ! !

thanks Angela appreciate your supportive comments, you're absolutely right: it's crazy how some people are still in denial about the worsening climate conditions of our and only planet

        • Fay Slimm.

Flames of a terrible nature and the bridge just about to be embraced - - how apt your last question my friend.

          • L. B. Mek

ikr? In some award show a few weeks back the recipient abruptly stated 'Happy New Year' at the end of her speech, I think it spoke volumes for just how much we all wish 2020 would end - and we can try to look forward with a more positive mindset
thanks for the supportive comment Fay

thanks, I agree there has been so many extreme situations pilling up, but I think its important we find avenues to relieve our frustrations or anxieties, it cant be healthy to have it all building-up inside, I guess that's one thing we can utilise our writing for

Very apt write LB in this very peculiar year.
