of chronic Dreams

L. B. Mek

is it really such a crime to smile, lost wholly

within endeavours of blinkered passion

must excellence, always be the outcome

surely room enough

for the caterpillar and its butterfly cousin

that scrawny whelp, a featherweight

among the Alpha class

fighting for every drop

dreaming: of mere Delta honours

a blessing, as no overnight fame

or chased Byzantium sails to immortality

to fan vanity’s flames

though, within each pen

radiates efficacy of humble probity

Throughout our lives we try to do our best and that is all we can do. If we can look back on our lives and realise we have done our best and come to this good place in our lives that smile will be forever with us.

it is possible to lose oneself in unattainable and chronic dreams .. but only when ones eyes are fully opened, will one see the true beauty in what is, what has been and what might one day be ... maybe such a comfortableness is that true enlightenment many of us seek ..

        write on my friend ...

I shall ever aspire, to or what for - I may never glean entirely, but along the way 'en-route between trees' as some wise poet may have stated, I will hopefully come across some leaves of wisdom or at the very least, a few answers and mayhap learn to ask the right questions...
          thank you for the encouragement!
