One Lasting Wish (+1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Kiss me once more lovingly,

than you have kissed before

Tell me that our love is shared,

and one plus one is four

Kiss me once more lovingly,

with time our hearts denied

As death abates, new dreams await

—forever’s wish to hide

The Ticket Lost

I’m back from war without my soul,

having pawned it on the field

Among the dead and buried dreams,

whose futile prayers concealed

I wonder where my spirit hides,

as I sleep these endless hours

With day as night and night as day,

in loneliness devoured

My mind goes back to search the graves,

old enemies inside

And calls my name into the dark

—reclaiming every lie

really like your take on the contrasting duality in our mind's at times, showcased by the two starkly different writes you've shared,
I think the yin and yang ideology has a lot of merit, the coexistence of two vastly differing elements is a common occurrence in nature - as-in our lives
