L. B. Mek

of Trust

she, keeps a face mask by the door

for those random delivery bells or unexpected guests

her scampering feet, a hallmark of drop-by visits

catching her unawares

all, in an effort at insuring

she’s only ever seen

with her war mask - in place

unless, she’s alone

with the one - she relies upon, where

she absentmindedly struts

with her barefaced - angelic nature

blessing his adoring gaze

in each blink of effortless grace

sweet one:

know

that I too, trust in you

devotedly

enough, to proclaim stubbornly

even if you were to walk me

to the age of a cliff

and ask me to jump blindfolded

I’ll be screaming, proud

my depthless love

till I splatter without regret, or

feel my back surrender

to your unfailing embrace

right? kinda crazy to reflect on how vulnerable we make ourselves in the face of love, naive maybe - but kinda sweet I think
thanks for the stirring encouragement my friend

I'm missing out, ya know! I gotta meet these gals in these poems - or some of them anyway. Will they be too much for me? lol.

      • L. B. Mek

depends on your perspective at the moment they brush-by and knock at those gates you have seemingly built - imposingly high... lol

        • orchidee

It's a sheltered life for me - this dark horse. I should get out more. I'll get my coat! It's my imaginary 'watchdog', Fido. 'Nothing too exciting for me', he says. See - a talking dog! It's nutty! lol.

Wonderful love story so beautifully done.... it just struck me that if this goes on too long, so many young pretty faces will never be seen while they are still fresh! Yikes what a pity.

          • L. B. Mek

pity indeed, hopefully one of the fruits of (the soon to be realised) equality, will be that impressionable female mind's will learn the beauty of owned individuality, in what Nature gifted them freely... but then I see the abundant faces of lifeless stretched skins on our TV screens and I'm reminded: there is much worse pitfalls that await within society's twisted fascination of tinted blush's to yearned aesthetic perfection,
            thanks for the supportive comment

This write of deep and vulnerable love is so vividly portrayed by your potent words hear L.B.

            • L. B. Mek

wow! 'so vividly portrayed' might be one of the most encouraging comments someone of your calibre can bestow on a fellow scribbler of rhythmic words, thank you Fay!

            • ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGELA here - Thanks LBM for an intriguing poem of Ladies & Love ! For Millenia Ladies have used Cosmetics to enhance their Natural Beauty ! However for Brian to love me I have no need of Warpaint ~ He loves me *au naturelle* ! Over the last three years the TRUST based on our LOVE has grown to the extent that we could react the scenario vividly described in the final three stanzas ! I trust this reflects the TRUST Brian has in ME !

Blessings & Peace to You & Your
              Love Angela - Brian - Smokey ! ! !

              • L. B. Mek

Love can be so strong that even jumping off the cliff together is ok as your Spirits will be together as one.

                • L. B. Mek

well emmm, now hold-on Andy, I wasn't trying to encourage couples jumping off - of anything... bro you aint gota put me on da spot like that, thought we were cool 😔😥😅
thanks for the support (cough)... lol!
*to be clear to all who read this write: 'Do Not Jump off - of anything - ever!'*
.... well unless your house is on fire, in which case: ask Andy first 😁

                  • Goldfinch60

Oh no it was just an imaginary cliff as you jump into love forever and live a wonderful life together.

Never had a house on fire!🤔

                    Andy

So many loves in a lifetime, but which one would I metaphorically jump off a cliff with (cliffs being very much in focus at present)? Such a love, such a night, such a write. Palpable, touchable, real. Excellent. Joe

                      'Palpable, touchable, real.'
well, I guess it's all downhill from here lol,
but seriously, thank you for such an elegant comment of support and encouragement, I truly appreciate you taking the time
