A Demon by the Hand Take an Angel

JWKP98

Diamonds for her eyes, silk for her hair

She asked, “Why do you stare?”

I wake up, until then not aware

An infinitely small chance to an infinitely large risk, a demon by the hand take an angel, do I dare?

When I looked at her, I swore I could see

The best part of my future and everything good in me

But it comes to pass I have to forget what I saw and let it go

Accept that I’m wrong about everything I think I know

A demon will forever for an angel be no good

Under the increasing weight of that knowledge, I stood

Until I fell, my knees and back giving out

I pray I am the worst of the demons, I pray no one feels the weight of this loathing, shame, guilt, doubt.

Diamonds for her eyes, silk for her hair

She asked, “Why do you stare?”

I wake up, until then not aware

An infinitely small chance to an infinitely large risk, a demon by the hand take an angel, do I dare?

It proves worth nothing in the end

As everything on me, she did spend

In return, in ignorance to my evil, only half-heartedly I even tried to be her friend

With her all, she tried to me mend

In response, my twisted mind could only both of us try to bend

Angels, in wisdom never allow demons to reflect on you what they could, but will not, be

Instead, their evil, make them see

Demons, in ignorance, never aspire to the angel’s light

See it and fear it instead and retreat to your unforgivable, eternal night

Diamonds for her eyes, silk for her hair

She asked, “Why do you stare?”

I wake up, until then not aware

An infinitely small chance to an infinitely large risk, a demon by the hand take an angel, spare ye both and never dare.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

BRIAN HERE ~ Good Friday Friend ! Thanks for sharing an elegantly Penned and thought provoking *Ode to a ANGEL* ! In my mind (as a generalisation ?) it describes the Scenario ~ every time a *MAN* meets a Real Lady ! The GOOD BOOK says that *When GOD looked at ADAM he saw His needs and created EVE - different in Form & Function - someone who would make ADAM complete *It is not GOOD for MAN to dwell alone !* Because there is a *Bit of Demon* in all Men* God created EVE as an ANGEL to compensate. I met Angela four years ago and She shone just like an ANGEL ! When she was born in 1988 her Parents were ambivalent about her name. When Her Father (who is Spanish) looked at Her - He said *Ella es un Angela* *She is an Angel* and her Mother (who is English) said *We will call Her *Angela Maria de la Plata* ~ AMEN. Fortunately when I asked Her to Marry Me She saw me as *Un Angelo* not as *Un Diablito* ! Also I was sufficiently Spanish (Language & a Guitarist) for Don Pedro de la Plata to say *Si Si* when We requested His pemission to become Engaged. Im 37 and we have been married six Months. So a *Demon* can marry an *Angel* and they can live *Happilly ever after !*

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
    Love Angela & Brian & Smokey Cat ! ! !
