Midnight prayers

Agiel

Feeling the weight
Of my heavy heart
On each word
Of my written art

Feeling the tears
Of each dream
Replacing with silence
My broken scream

Feeling the scars
Upon soft touch
Remembering the boy
Who never asked much

Feeling the future
Being colored gray
Holding my knees
Beginning to pray

Feeling the eyes
Close shut tight
Fearing the same
Unjust smite

Feeling the soul
Shedding another piece
Hoping that pain
Will now cease

Feeling the prayers
Upon deaf ears
Never retrieving
My stolen years
