Love Versus Riches: A Disharmony from Matrimony (feat. CaitEva)

Notice of absence from Audax
Hey y’all, I’ll be taking a break from writing and going away for a while to focus on other things at the moment. Stay blessed, spend time with your loved ones, and continue expressing your creativity! I’ll be back in due time to publish more of my work and to read some more of your’s. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year’s to all of you! Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay strong! Take care!

Intertwined by time,

Seeking a solemn rhyme,

To clinch gold and silver,

Despite our hearts forever,

I've severed the ties to the glitz and glamour

The old way, the parade, I smashed it with a hammer

Because what feels good to the ego can be bad for the spirit

Now that you're a billionaire, do you ever miss it?

Caving to the pressure,

Falling into the fissure,

Of what I find more worthy,

Even if it's temporary,

What feels good temporarily

Can leave you with nothing but money and memories

I sit in the field, I take in the fresh air

Oh the simple things in life, it’s what I hold most dear

Pushed away through success,

Never taking a recess,

To hold what I held precious,

Cause I found wealth more glorious,

Glorious and victorious, but what about us?

You sit on your billions, but seem cold and lack love

Spending time with family, doesn't that make you happy?

The mundane days are the best, kicking back and just chatting

Earning billions each day,

But I would hardly stay,

For those long, beautiful nights,

Since I adore these city lights,

It's love I adore

Intimacy at its core

I don't care much about wealth

As long as you are well

Taken to the edge,

While breaking this pledge,

As I roll out the dice,

That comes at a heavy price,

We may go separate roads

I may go this alone

To get in touch with my soul

As that's worth more than any gold

Wow! I absolutely Love it, Audax & CatiEva. Great back & forth between you 2 as if you are Lovers.

Reminds me of when I was young raising my children. Trying to instill in them, People (Loved ones, Friendships, and such) are more sacred than success in anything else in this here world. Period. I would be more hurt at losing a Loved 1 in any possible way than losing anything else in this World. Money comes, money goes, Life however goes on with People. Now I am passing that (Hopefully) onto my Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. Whoo Hoo! Don

Thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate them. Loved ones should be valued more than material things!

Awesome. The structure is beautiful. The conversations between wealthy and love reflect the real world we lived in. The fusion is seamless. Really enjoy the reading.

I really love this poem! The rhymes are genius and the word choices “fissure,” “recess.” I also like how most of the female lines are longer than the male. Overall, a great piece of art!

Thank you! We pulled through together to work as a team in creating a great piece of art. Have a blessed day!

Very good collaboration, it shows the complete difference between being rich and being happy.

an imaginative write that's really well thought-out, I like the fact that both styles simultaneously compliment and clash with each other from one stanza to the next,
              'It's love I adore
              Intimacy at its core'
              &
              'Never taking a recess,
To hold what I held precious,'
a great write by both of you!

Wow this is an impressive poem as you compare the free gifts of nature and wealth which deprives us of peace and nature that need recess and breaks from life. Love and getting in touch with the soul is more important than riches yes. Kudos.

Plz pleez do read and comment my newest poem here. Thanks.

Nicely Written, I can tell your writing style, it’s meters are shorter, and rhymes patterns obvious, excellent collaboration
