Ode to the snail

🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷🐦😽

🐌 Slug or Snail 🐌
Slow you trail
The slimy path you leave
upon bark or rail
or along my pail
Glue from your tail?
Ah, bind my mail?
Be my pet not pet peeve
Don't crawl up my sleeve.
Go mark some leaves.
Don't glue my nail! 🐌
You tread over the cabbage
you trample the kale
You are too slow but too many
to be locked in jail
Which of you is the girl,
which of you is the male?
How do I guess your emotions?
You never smile or wail
To thy Creator I whisper,

🐌🐌🐌🐌

to His creativity all hail.

    Good write Z.

Yes, I like snails too. I will save them if I see them on paths in damp weather, and move them to the grass. Well, crossing a path for a snail must be like humans trying to cross a motorway.

Yep a Great Write there s.zaynab.kamoonpuri!
We all have a part to play in this here world and orchidee Thank You for putting me back on a safe Path, so to speak. 🤣 Don

A miracle wrapped in an awesome shell is paid special tribute in your interesting posting dear Zaynab-- we may never know the benefits of creatures like snails and why their colouring differs - thank you for sharing their prettiness with us.

Wow I like how you call them miracles in a shell, yes some are so pretty indeed, warmest thanks for cool lovely comment.🌷 🐌

      You seeing more snails?! heehee.

      • 🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷🐦😽

Hi actually here where I live I rarely see any snails so when we do see them the kids get excited and some of them esp like those in the pic above are so beautiful . And I have seen westerners who keep snails as pets . Cheers ☺️😉

I enjoy the simplicity of this poem, as well as the rhyming. Very well done there. I used to have a pet snail named Tsubu as a young boy, and this delightful little poem made me think fondly of them, and for that I thank you.

Um yeah most of my poems I intend to be very simple, clear as I don't want the message vague.
And wow thanks for your funtastic story of your pet, nice to know. I think they would be a fun pet. Thanks soo much for super comment.

          A witty and entertaining write.

          Wonderful szaynab.

Maybe we all need to take a note out of the snail's book and stop rushing around in life especially modern life.

Keep writing ✍ and safe during these challenging times.

Yayy you added to my poem with such bright smart ideas and comments, to take time to slow down and enjoy the scenery and nature which can't be enjoyed as much in rushing about yes. We should learn from the snail how slow and steady can be successful and wholesome . Warmest thanks for your great words on this, that's why I like hearing from poets, they broaden knowledge . 🐌🌷

I like your typography - I'm so tired of middle-axis alignment and tiny print on MyPoeticSide.

I'm new here. I've been messing with the site's text editor - I'm very fussy about how my verse is displayed. Good Unicode support - I've embedded pointed Hebrew and Arabic-alphabet Farsi already. I'll try Devanāgarī next!

            • 🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷🐦😽

Hi, I'm glad it is readable print for I want all ages to enjoy my poetry. What will you do with Farsi here wow, ? Thanks for comment.

              • Robert Southwick Richmond

Already tried Farsi, in the poem about Rūmī. I can't read the Arabic alphabet, just copied and pasted.

                Beautifully written. Keep it up.
