The Truth

John McChord

Is it not the truth

We should all, long for the silence

Of each we become?

Mine own forsooth,

This deafening vast reverence

Or a silence yet begun

What is the verse

Beguiling in peace or time

That none but I belong

Is that not surely the truth?

well, now we're playing the game of real Poetry and you Sir, bring a unique voice to that daunting table,
wonderfully introspective, while simultaneously being inclusive,
    a great write
