Rainbows of your Love

Fatlass

You tell me that you love me with each and every bruise,

And none could ever doubt that love clothed in such splendid purple hues,

And as your stain tattoos me and blemishes my skin.

I know your legacy will live on by the scars you leave within,

For as the autumnal tempest disrobe the mighty tree,

The colours of your love will fade into a painful memory,

But the hurts that run the deepest will haunt me through the years,

Bouyed on a sea of anguish; filled with the salt of a million tears,

And as I drown in sorrow and your blows rain from above.

I take my consolation in the rainbows of your love.

Wow! The quality of your poetry is excellent.
A very personal and moving subject here covered with such grace. It's as if you rose above this painful part of your life and moved along, containing it. There are no scathing words of anger or recrimination which really lifts this piece.

I'm sure you will begin to attract more and more readers of your work judging by what i have seen so far.

This poem goes into my favourites.

The beautiful title first drew me in and then you held my attention throughout ...

What a fine introduction to your craft I just stumbled upon whilst chasing a rainbow across a page .....

      All Good Things my friend,
