A Higher Enchantment

Kurt Philip Behm

Is there anything language

can’t possibly express

Words falling short,

all speech in distress

Are there concepts so deep,

they cannot be described

To experience beyond

any speaker or scribe

A higher enchantment,

a deeper enthrall

The logic of which

is bereft to recall

Expression in handcuffs,

perception moves on

Searching the cosmos

—its melody strong

(Dreamsleep: December, 2020)

Through The Looking Glass

We have only our perceptions,

but how honest can they be

Where one man sees the color red,

the colorblind can’t see

When trapped in three dimensions,

we must push against the walls

Until we’re free of all constraints

—and clarity befalls
