You'll Breathe

SheWasTheSun

Maybe you'll be shopping for groceries

Or brushing your teeth

Watching Rory cry over Dean

Or something in between

But suddenly, you'll breathe

After all those weeks

Of crying yourself to sleep

Tears soaking through your pillows

And your cheeks

You'll breathe

And once more,

your tea will taste sweet

Once more,

your eyes will able to see

Once more,

your mind will rest while your body sleeps

And when you look in the mirror

You'll see

The one you used to call "me"

You'll see

Who you were always meant to be

You'll see

Why you needed to grieve

You'll see

And when you step out of bed

You'll feel it in your feet

No longer weak

You'll feel it in your chest

The strength when you speak

You'll feel it in your lungs,

the air

The air that lets you breathe.

So please, believe me

when I say,

You'll breathe.
