Freckled Girl

Edthepoet

Well I'm not a builder of bridges

But i

Know how to get to you

I'm not a swimmer of oceans

But I'll

dive to the deep with you

I'm not a keeper of knowledge

But i

Know what I need to

I know someday

Freckled girl

We'll become what we always knew

The distance between us

turned from light to dark

And our love shined on through.

Well I'm not a singer of ballads

But i

Hold a steady tune

I'm not a reader of odysseys

But i

Wondered away my youth

I've never reckoned with reason

But

I reckon we need to

You see someday

Freckled girl

We'll become what we always knew

The distance between us

turned from light to dark

And our love shined on through

    Nice. Appreciate the flow.

  • Robert Southwick Richmond

Love freckled girls! Particularly girls with freckles in their cleavage.

The past tense of 'shine' is 'shone'.

    • Edthepoet

Not in this poem it isn't 😂

      • Robert Southwick Richmond

This is a really powerful poem you wrote, and the grammatical error weakens the poem.

        • Edthepoet

I appreciate your feedback Robert. It's not an error, shone instead of shine would weaken the flow. Poetic freedom if you will.

So good to see your name pop up, that's a perfect gift!

Like I said before, incredible flow sat perfectly with my soul!

          Keep up the write
          Much peace and respect
