Akuryō(Demon)

Tia Davis/テイア

Possessed

The Akuryō that sits in front of the mirror

Hands clunched

Knife in hand

Mouth shut

As a voice trys to scream from within

The Akuryō never allows for the body

The corse to hear ones self

As it weakens whom fights to come out

The longer you fight the weaker you get

Until one is silent and feels like they are already dead

Gone

Forgotten

Unwanted

Useless

Hopeless

Silenced

The thoughts that invade the mind

Boils your blood

Yet makes you feel so cold

Makes you scream and cry in agony

It hurts

Being eaten alive

It's draining

You feel like your fighting a battle

Yet your the first to die

And you don't even know it

Until you no longer have the energy to breathe

When everything is closed

The Akuryō leaves

Your cold body in hopes

Nothing ever opens again

As you try to get up

As you search for one more breathe

As you struggle to reach for that inhaler

You wonder if it's even worth it

To know your going to have to go through this again

You tried to stay silent to not wake up the Akuryō whom is always watching

But the silence is never enough it awakens when you have breathed for to long

Smiled to often

Laughed with no lies

That never sits right

He feels left out

He feels enraged

Small

Weak

He wants to remind you how big how strong he is

He has always been your next door neighbor since you were small you playmate

As death waits on the other

One voice

Small voice

Strong soul

That lies between them

Silenced so many times but never seems to give up

She tries to fight off the thoughts that invade

So you can hear her say that everything is going be okay

When she fails to be heard she prays that the body will not react in an unforgiving way

Everytime she fights she cracks

She changes

As Akuryō stays the same

She heals

When you have breathed

When you have smiled

When you have laughed

Ready to fight again

That is way Akuryō always awakens

Not because he is to powerful or big

Simply because he is afraid

You only hate what you fear or you can't have

He just wants you to forget that the soul that lays between is YOU

And he is just the IMPOSTER

That is whom you want to kill

Whom you want to die

But it is not you

He makes you forget not all the time

But just in the moment

The time that is long enough for you to make that gravely mistake

You are YOU he is

Akuryō

    Brilliant!
What a jagged read of versed introspection you've painted, how prickly you distil your truth dear Poet,
keep singing: as proud as that capitalised YOU in your last line!
We must first face - with bravery, whatever we need to defeat, accepting however alien, it's what we 'Allow' it to implant within, that threatens to chain us indefinitely...
