what happened to me?
it took a month
and i wormed my way into your heart;
the hungry caterpillar
nibbling at the strings.
will i still remember your face?
sometimes it looked like you were melting
into the earth’s core like slime
slipped through my hands, away.
will i still remember your clothes?
daydream dungarees
in the heat of the sixth floor
but you were ice down my throat.
paused evolution
rotting wings
some tenants don’t realise they’ve let in termites
until they’re whispering silk advice into rough ears.
