THE CARNAGE OF THE TIME

Thomas J. Dooley

Looking to the future, looking to the past

Putting out the flames of ignorance

Is the tragedy that we have

The carnage of time

The loss of over four-hundred thousand lives

A community disenfranchised

Now the uneducated run and hide.

Looking to our neighbors, looking to our communities

Moving towards unity, are we truly free

With hope, we live with integrity.

The carnage of time

Walking through a field of destruction

Littered with rubble left behind

As the uneducated look on with pride

Looking to our mentors, looking to our leaders

A future with positive change is nowhere.

Words spoken with strength dismissing all the fear

Quite the optimist there Tommy! I'm doing my part to stamp out the flames of which you sing. My feet are getting hot though.
