Sam Wolf

colored fields in a dreamy vision

colored fields in a dreamy vision

in stillness they stood

like a soldier’s salute

invigorated by the sun

on a cold January day

remaining unaffected

yellow and radiant

I spent some time thinking about this piece which i found quite abstract. I settled for a vision of corn stands, the old fashioned way they would stand up cut corn ready to be fed to a threshing machine long before the days of combined harvesters and just before my time too.
Thanks for a mental workout. What I pictured may not have been your intent but often i find, with stuff I write, the reader sees something quite different.

Brought a childhood memory of visiting a favourite aunt as a child as behind her home was a field of corn we use to run through.

Strong green fields that even though cold they don't wither and remain growing cause God permits it to be so. Same with anything else in life, if it's not time to go or slow down then it won't happen. Life is beautiful is a mysterious way and never mistreat it cause it's our world we live and survive of.
