Oceanum

Quod arcanum mulier

Steal away - to Oceans forged

From dregs of memories

Them - cast - by frail hands

Turned ironclad by faith

This becomes the force that binds

The paltry substance - Life

To fickle souls like mine

The Oceans mantle - swallows us

In jaws of likely fate

We amble down its swelling maw

A century away

From donning Death - a muted kirtle

That submits our soul to somewhere

Unattainable but within reach

Our hands linger at the edge

Then - drop - to depth unknown to entity

The eddy rounds - and rounds - again

Encircling our unfurled throats

Till breath becomes subdued

Tis then - we rejoin our own

In the belly of the Ocean

The wide sky of Eternity

Our final place to be.

    what a beautifully worded write!
somewhat epic in scope, but how well you've executed your poetic vision and still managed to distil your message so accessibly relatable,
    thanks for sharing dear poet
