Testing the Waters

TS

i came inside,

from the wind,

hardened

by the many storms,

thrust upon my pride

it was the calm

that seduced

an echoed mind

her hand was kind

stroking

the darkened skies

i could see behind her eyes

light surrendered

to the blind

bleeding past the night

burning bright

a torch of trust

awoken

when her lips

embraced my chest

we settled in

with the finer days of life
