Tattoos

Poetry_Lover

There are the meaningful tattoos

You could quite literally have

"the world"

in your hands

With the ink littering the

fresh

bright

skin

The meaning that could be

Held place underneath

Some only

Known to you

Those are the best

The hidden little secrets

You have to think further beyond to unlock

Multi colored

or

Black and white

It holds a story

***

Then there are tattoos you get

Drunk one night

Waking up to

Find something new

The regret of having and ex's name

After never being able to

Say it without pain

A tattoo with a meaning

You don't understand anymore

Something you don't want to see when your older and wiser

When you have read the last of a novel

The insight to another realm of knowledge

That leaves you wonder why

There are two tattoos

The good

Or

The not so good

  • Comment from author about the poem: Hi everyone! This is a little piece I just put together. I saw this tattoo that had the words "the world" in the middle of the palm. It got me thinking about how much meaning a tattoo can have. This poem is also like a metaphor for not throwing yourself into an open flame. To take life a little bit by the horns and don't do things without thinking of how it will affect yourself in the long run. As always I hope you enjoyed this little piece. I hope it gave you som insight! All the love PL xxx❤
