Out of Mind

Neville

Out of Mind

If I cannot see you

Then you no longer exist

So I burn all the photos

And I delete all the texts

The candles are weeping

But they are suitably snuffed

Yet still I hope, beyond hope

That you know you are loved

Yes now you can go

You can do as you please

You can dance, you can laugh

You can love, now eternally free..

I was left reflecting upon the fact that each of my past loves elevated me and so to they must have elevated my lovers. Elevation - to ride higher than you rode before.

Your excellent words speak of letting go peacefully with understanding and acceptance. To move forward along a path as yet untrod.
Really enjoyed reading this and the thoughts it provoked - leaving me uplifted truly.

worded beautifully, I really like the challenging journey depicted - in distilling, the acceptance it takes
to transmute your first two lines: into your last two..
another subtle serving of your inked brushstroke of brilliance my friend, in my humble opinion

Love free of possession - the only way (though sometimes very hard) to be. I'll settle for the last three stanzas.
            Great Neville.

.......... the only true and meaningful way indeed ... thank you kindly Dave .. particularly on behalf of those three stanzas ...

That which we have lost hurts the most. A sustained love, never equals the lost imagined one .This is the power of the mind.
The first two lines set up the imagery. Then we inject "hope" an undefined emotion and the work of the mind. And lastly, having set up the implausible we free what is not ours to let go. Yet the honesty of your emotions rings through to the reader and we know the words are spoken in sincerity. - Phil A.

.................... every now and again, it is frightening just how quickly the pen can turn, take over and usurp my imagination ...... however, having somehow managed to resume control .. I thank you my friend and on behalf of us all..................... N.

If only I could think that way!

Love has a way of staying in mind when its day has ended and these moving words suggest the best way to let go - honestly, hopefully and so tender...........x.
