One day on and one day of

you make me feel like I am tops

the next I don't know who you are

sent back again from front to start

I say the thing I really mean

but you still live there in the dream

the past solutions I can't change

but I'm here on another day

Compare me not to who've you lost

but look now to what you've got

I'm here with you my arms held wide

You shoot me down with hidden pride

I try to say my truth won't hide

I'm standing here with all I've got

i see your eyes it's not enough

compare me to the loves you've lost

I'm standing here in pouring rain

trying listening to what your saying

I cannot match I cannot be

the person that you see in me
you live in past but here I am

for all to see my heart is true

the one who doesn't see it

only you

I normally pass straight over unrequited love/misery poetry, but for reasons unknown to me I flicked back and sampled a couple of your back catalogue. Two things evident: you do utilize diverse subject matter in your poetry AND you haven’t been here for a very long time. So hope to see more of you now, but not the misery love stuff – It’s (unfortunately) a crowded field here.

these lines say it all, what a great read dear poet,
I certainly can relate your worded frustration at trying to engage with someone wholly and them being too calloused and bruised from past disappointment's to be able to decipher: the veracity of my intentions..
