Harvest

Brimelow

Today I felt like a farmer at harvest,
rejoicing in the worth of his deeds.

I surveyed my land.
I ploughed my soil.
I planted my seeds.
I loved my insects.
I controlled my weeds.

Sunrise today was like the love of a princess.
The warmth of the world left a blush on my skin.

I rode to my field,
a vista of shimmering greens.
I collected my plants,
and thought of my future adventures,
whose mouths they will feed.

      beautifully worded,
such a buoyant write, makes me look out of my window anticipating Spring and simply, take a minute
      to think
      a rare and wonderful: gift
