Our stories matter

Poetic Dan

With true intent I've lived by my every word, as I look back with no anger I can see the universe converse

For history is good in the acknowledgement of blueprints made, it can help recognise that this is all but a stage!

The pages have always been ours to design which role we play, when ego becomes our friend not something we hide away.

Helping each other to feel like we a just floating through space,  in something that should be enjoyed not a race to the ending wave.

(Written 2019)

Some songs remind us where we need to go

Others will remind us what we already know

I'm only two years away but there's something I'd like to acknowledge

I've heard Life begins at 40

Before that it was just a test run

 Many bridges I have broken

Some can never be rebuilt

 Although islands do not drift

The connections just not quick

 But until we rise above

Using starship out of love

 The ocean is our journey

Emotional waves never stop

So now I'm starting to build, one last ship

With nearly 38 years worth of blueprints

On the very first page I give thanks in my mothers name

For I held a grudge against her for far too long

The best she could do, brought up the best that's in me

For me to be truly proud of myself, It must be with all I've seen

So I'm thanking her for giving me life and the opportunity to grow

I could not be more happier with every person I've known

You've really put it altogether there, mate.
It almost feels like a summary of all you ever wanted to say in one place. I admired it...you will be coming back to write more, won't you? Not your final effort here, is it?

Ha, I read this and thought I'd write something. Before I know it and in the words of the wife...I got poetic diarrhoea

I'm sure you did this before so thanks again for the ripple of inspiration..

        Much peace and respect
