Dad Kid

Pacifique Niyitanga

He was so much sad
Misery drove him mad
As he had nothing to add
But only to shake his head

Questions in his head like rainfall
He forced his mind to forget it all
But his heart didn't stop its call
Telling how bad he's gonna fall

He lost the treasure he held for years
But he could not shed tears
Regretting voices in his ears
Heartbeats stitching like sharp spears

The situation was so hard
For the first time to be heard
Not only error done was too bad
Strange was to be called dad

The night he lost his virginity
Same date he earned maturity
He became a dad regardless of ability
To take and fullfil father's responsibility

No way, he accepted his fate
Ate with struggles on same plate
But God's help never came too late
He grew up with his firstborn and mate.

Neat little story, NP. I would think it is an experience some men and women would find familiar...
Also liked your rhymes and structure.
