Joshua Tree (+1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Its special indifference

and weathering smile,

reminds every passer

 —its strength and its guile

It stands in the desert

alone and unbowed,

to flower in protest

—its nature avowed

(Tuweep Arizona: January, 2018)

Latebat Dolor

Cleft palate ill-fated

splitting inside us,

a hidden betrayal

—memory’s scar

(Dreamsleep: April, 2021)

Tail Of The Dragon

Love regrets,

promises return,

comets in mourning

—meteors burn

(Dreamsleep: April, 2021)

I just cherish you love of words, by pointedly choosing 'avow'
you gift us readers so much opportunity for interpretation
and ultimately, what greater gift can a Poet: ink
