Perception

rebmasters

Persistent obligations and

circuitous complications.

Sumptuous smile that cracked the sky

and left me awake for days.

Relaxing in your deep daydream,

getting drunk on powerful passion

like it was standard special.

Glorious, terrible, meandering out of the mundane.

The best reviews are only

a distraction - you were mine.

You're my chief critic and I let you be,

taking me with your evening glass of wine.

Outside of your philosophy,

I wasn't a risk you wanted.

I'm always arguing, you're always right.

Bound by desire,

slow and deep, taking care of my heart.

Tropical body heat,

sky, sand, saltwater,

searching for you.

Love is perception

or lack thereof.
