I don't wanna say redemption
Though there's no better word
To hang it on..
..But it does no justice
To the hell that we made a come back from
I guess It's floating down the river
I guess it's howling at the moon
I guess it goes without saying
After all that we've been through
I guess it's hidden in the inhales
Of the words that we don't speak
I will stand beside you
Until we both
Lay back down beneath.
I don't wanna use absolution
Though there's no better bed
To lay it on..
..But it does no justice
To where we were and where we both belonged
I guess it's blowing through the tree tops
I guess it's a summers night in June
I guess it goes without saying
After all that we've been through
I guess it's hiding in plain sight now
Every time our tired eyes meet
I will stand beside you
Until we both
lay back down beneath.

this is beautiful!
'I guess it's hidden in the inhales
Of the words that we don't speak'..
a wonderfully paced write, with incisive use of imagery and natural flow
thanks for sharing dear poet
I like this . The way you have included parts of nature . It also flows very well. Has a soft feeling to this poem
