Gynaika: our Most, beloved

We call you troublesome when all you’ve done

is carry troubles of those around you,

title you worrisome when all your worries

are born of labels others attach to you

your laughter - corrupted, as a tease

your beauty – pathetic excuse, for acts of depraved cruelty

your intelligence: treated as our immediate, threat!

Thousands of years spent suffering

behind caged - adulation, till Suffragettes

painstakingly forged a path for your volition, to be counted.

Not a single inch did we yield – willingly

inflicting unseen bruises: generations deep…

Most of us remain idle, hiding

behind contrived ignorance of inherited circumstance

preying on your limitless kindness

while praying for yet more forgiveness

calling out ‘daughter - mother - sister - lover

we, Need you: in our lives.’

Entangling, your entitled - equality wings

from soaring: out of our reach.

I treat everyone with equal respect and total equality.

as we should all be doing Andy, or at least: striving-to..
      'we need only treat others
as we - personally, would like to be treated
nothing more is asked nor needed'..
thanks for commenting, very kind of you my friend

Yes Andy - in my experience you do.

....... You post here what should be an anthem to honour and indeed revere each and every one of them

... Respect my friend .. stay safe and write on ....... Neville

I'm glad you could relate to the core of my intent, my friend
indeed, we should revere and honour those worthy: in our lives
empathise by allowing for relevant context and distilling facts from emotional words or actions, so as to sympathise with and support: as best we can,
maybe these words read as unrealistic idealism to some, a mere gesture of hollow placations
but maybe for a handful few it will represent a timely reminder, and help bridge that gap of growing separation: threatening, our very population..

there is such a powerful message within these fine words. I find it harder and harder to understand how so many form biased opinions based on only one viewpoint without sitting back and considering everything. Closed minds create divisions.

            Dear Mek,
What you have here is a powerful vote and rich voice to gender equality. Poetry has a way of elevating the voice in a dignified presentation. And this you have captured here.
            You have my vote!
