Broad Arrow (=1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Rushing forward,

pushing back

Light entrances,

then attacks

Preying darkness,

shadows hide

Lumined future

—demons cry

(The New Room: April, 2021)

One Last Chance

Yesterday,

we freed ourselves…

divorced from one

another

Trading

forlorn bonded vows

for the chance

to be alone

Yesterday,

we said those things…

to never take

them back

Replacing

what the years have done

with promise

in the wind
