Love #3

rebmasters

I glimpsed a glimmer of that mysterious 'it'
A petite, precious piece.
Maddening curved edges,
never the whole
all at once, no never.
Faint fingertips brushed it,
agonisingly close.
I heard that song
over a long distance,
sweet, but dim, distorted.
Faint snatches of mad melodies;
eternal ecstasy unbound.
Traces of a scent linger on;
no longer delicious
without the fulness of the heady concoction.
Now just evoking miserable memories
like sweat I licked off you in humid heat
amidst tangled sheets, limbs & love.

Could that be what it is?
