when we speak
i see your eyes
trace my flaws
like you’re reading a map
in the lineaments of my skin
looking for a fault line,
straining to see falling stars
through cracks in my sky
my lightning
to you is mania, inconsistency,
danger,
and now the reports all say
she’s here, steer clear
and you wonder why
i hide from light
and why i hide my fear
when all along
it existed in plain sight
because you love me
like love is rare
and i atone for every short fall
and lend parts to every repair
see the weather in my head mum,
lately its been pretty bad
rain clouds form over
anxious tides that ebb
and flow with the moon
just like a mother
who comes then goes,
like a daughter who spoke too soon

bravely revealing
wonderfully intimate and intense in its wording
a great read, thanks for sharing
