Alive

sylviasearcher

Dogs bark
Their discontent
As I wallow
In my empty
And contemplate
The viper
Within

What if?
I am
So much Less
Than
Ordinary?

What if?
I am
Worse
Than
The crowd

Silence goads
Its empty vastness
As I drown
In the toxins
And relish
The darkness
Inside

What if?
I am
Gone
Before
The birds?

What if?
I am
Sacrificed
Beneath
The stars

Dust dives
Crashing into possibilities
As I fight
Against my demons
And cherish
That

I am

Alive
