Yellow Birds

Jerry Reynolds

Bang-Bang-Bang
He beat upon the side of his truck

Drive a bit further the same refrain
Bang-Bang-Bang
Annoyed motorist angrily proclaimed
What’s with this never-ending
Bang-Bang-Bang
To which the haggard driver claimed
Inside there are two tons of canaries
Bang-Bang-Bang
What has this to do with anything?
It’s a one-ton truck

So He's banging to keep half the birds in flight..... saves on the old springs I guess.
A tall story, like the old truckers tail hanging out of his pants (trousers in U.K.).

    • Jerry Reynolds

Thanks, Dusk. "Don't bite off more than you can chew or let your mouth write a check your ass can't cash."

The saying pf picking up more than you thought springs to mind after reading your clever message in Yellow Birds - -- thanks Jerry

'Inside there are two tons of canaries
      Bang-Bang-Bang
What has this to do with anything?
      It’s a one-ton truck'..
canaries, as image of innocence and inner peace...
      another very clever write, Jerry
      brilliantly executed!

Thank you kind sir for your deep dive.

Free 'em all - I'm glad you bought this horrendous situation to our attention, Jerry. As a moral guardian who gives us clear unambiguous communiqués with respect to what is happening over there you have no peer.

        • Jerry Reynolds

Thanks Dave, truth be known, it was inspired by your tale of a song bird a crow and a cat.

          • Doggerel Dave

A song bird a crow? and a cat
Did not know they were there to bat
            For this here’s little rhyme;
            They arrived just in time
To be a part of Jerry’s chat.
