Accidental Poet

Faith

There was a time

When your dreams could come true

A time when you believed in faith

Knowing it was all waiting for you

Then as the years go by

You wonder who’s waiting on who

Now you’ve learned to feed your faith

To always give the best from you

For how many years can be left?

How much more can you give?

They say what goes around comes around

Giving you reasons to live

And if you find one day

It’s you sitting up on that shelf

You’ve got to take that leap of faith

And start believing in yourself

In the storybook of life

There’s more to the book than the last page

Turn each page with pride and faith

And you’ll live with a smile till old age

I may have called this poem "believe" if it were mine. On the same type theme of yesterday, you have brought to light the importance of belief, A P over the past 18 months I've been reading a lot of poetry about simply giving up and poems about lack of love but we need to write about the power to be and to believe that love isn't always tragedy. A glass half full always

I wrote this in 2014, and yesterday's poem more recently. Yesterday's poem I was going to title it "Faith", and then I realized I already had one by that name, so I just reworked it slightly. But...you have a good idea there. I should have consulted you first. LOL. But I guess I'll leave it as is now. And I have another poem on here I think. It's called "Half a Glass". I too am tired of all the depressing writes about life. Granted, poets can write about whatever they need or want to. But some poets tend to stay in the cellar of gloom because that's their comfort zone. Now that's sad. Thanks for the read and compliment Teddy. ; )

I have turned many pages in my life and there are still many more to come and MY FAITH within me knows I will read them all.
