Lost Humanity

Accidental Poet

The dreams of our forefathers

Some realized, some lost

Now distant descendants

Hold the everchanging cost

From barbaric cavemen

Came the birth of greed

Men fighting over a fresh kill

To satisfy their hunger to feed

Fast forward forty thousand years

Man has learned compassion

To care for each other

A relatively new found fashion

But evil greed rises

From the abyss of hell

Infecting millions

For those with souls to sell

To disrupt the masses

Spreading despair and pain

But the good men of the world

Refusing to give up reign

In the end

Love will conquer evil

As it was written

All men are equal

To stand up for humanity

That all the world should prosper

To live and let live

A plan all men can foster

“But the good men of the world
Refusing to give up reign” –
Ain’t that many: ‘reign’ in this context means power.
‘Power’ means control. That’s something all good men want?
That’s it! Love will get rid of the buggers….

    • Accidental Poet

In this context, love IS power, and love is the cure.

      A fine write AP.
Unfortunately, as I see it, man (mankind) has been the same since Adam and Eve.
They got greedy, we could say, in eating of the one tree they were forbidden. I suppose they ate of the other 99 or so permitted trees too.

WOW, a truly great poem. I found this inspiring. Our world is dominated by the greedy few who believe they are entitled when so many who are ignored by our media are in genuine desperate need.

And who are they to bestow entitlement upon themselves? Thanks for reading and your compliment Andy. ; )

Right-on. If only we could educate ALL hearts to your way then the world would be a more beautiful place.

Very true words AP, the Hippies had the right idea, make love not war.

You have made the start of my day so wonderful - The Moody Blues are one of my favourite groups, I have all their albums. So I know that today my 'lost' world will be wonderful.

Thanks Andy. The Moody Blues are my favorite band, I've seen them live about 8 times I believe. I'm glad I could start your day off so wonderful. ; )

this is a war cry: decorated, as a Poem!
we must Fight, till the very end
            and never
let the worst of what we can, become
            dictate the Who
of what we: Choose, to become!

            • Accidental Poet

Love is the way to the future we can live with. Thanks LB. ; )
