Variegation

rebmasters

The variation in your eyes,
like variegation in a leaf
up close;
the tendrils drifting & curling,
suffusing it with elixir of gold;
a glow,
different in dawning light
or the last ebb of day.
At once as bright & brilliant,
and as dark & sultry
as shadows made by drifting clouds
falling on rain-soaked downs;
the sun returning from beneath
the softest round of your eyelid,
like the mound of a gentle hill
amidst the rolling ocean of
an undulating countryside.
Simple complexity;
variegation and variation can't
occur because of a lack of something,
not in your eyes;
just unfathomable
& bewitching
beauty
