Compare to her, Compare to me

Hair falls like chocolate waves flowing so freely,

Eyes, blue, sparkle with light from the stars.

Nose so small but scrunches up so cutely,

Cheeks as pink as roses, with perfect little dimples,

Teeth as white as pearls, diamonds plain in compare.

Lips so plump but yet so small, forever smiling from the love it drawls.

I stand there staring directly at the wall,

Slowly a smile appears before all,

As I straighten out my midnight black hair,

Tears escape from my green eyes so bare.

As I wish for things to go to the way they were before,

All I can think of is “I wish I were her...”

    Sad that there has been 'promoted' a physical ideal. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. One man's ugly is another man's perfect and that's proven true time after time.
    Besides which, beauty is only skin deep.
