Let the sleeping dogs lie

Blue Poet

There was a time when i felt the light
Even though around me was only darkness
At such times i was willing to fight
Even though to many it seemed like madness

Then there were times when i sat illuminated
Yet inside of me was only dark
Those were the times throughout which i waited
Yet didn't see a single spark

Today i'm somehow somewhere in the middle
Desperately trying to keep the ballance
For so long i've been trying to slove this riddle
Which most of the time feels like utter nonsense

Blinded by light sometimes i stumble
Upon the truths that make me cry
Knowing them causes me to crumble
I should've left the sleeping dogs lie

But once you woke them up
There's no puting them back to sleep
They sniff out every feeling
Especially those you try to bury deep

Don't even ask whether they bark or bite
For silence will be your answer
They stand tall in all their might
Growing silently - like a cancer

There's no leash strong enough to hold them
Belive me i should know
No wall is tall enough to scare them
You don't want to be their foe

For once the sleeping dogs lie no more
There shall be hell to pay
They'll shake you to the very core
And nothing will keep them at bay

'For so long i've been trying to slove this riddle
Which most of the time feels like utter nonsense'..
    clever wordplay, stutter
    and I especially like
how you made the whole experience, a journey
    of discovery, while depicting
    that poetic journey of self-discovery
    brilliantly executed!
    in my humble opinion
