THE MORTAL LOVE OF NARCISSUS.

LandraM

1.

They say flowers are beautiful beings, hence bees can’t resist their taste.

For long I have wondered why butterflies sacrificed their wings to flames,

It all made sense when I saw you because you my love have no equal I have known.

They said love is for fools, and so I believed that from the start,

But one look at you and my mind froze in a flash.

A fool I am, but is it not worth it?

2.

Like a moth drawn to a flame, my love for you burns relentlessly

Like a moth drawn to a flame, I’d give my whole life for you.

Call me a helpless romantic but who could blame me if they saw you?

In a world of bitterness, you sweeten my life from afar.

3.

Come my soul, grant me but one touch I beg of you,

And let me feel what I dare imagine.

My eyes seem sure, but my steps just stutter.

Tis a dream but nor a dream, the more I touch you disappear.

4.

Iheard rejection could kill even the dead,

My heart has been shaken that I cannot hear you.

I take a step towards you and our smiles meet,

But when I reach for you, you let me fall in my despair.

All the roses won’t grant me your love in return it seems.

5.

Ileave and you follow,

Some sort of enjoyment you take from this game,

But who can blame you, your spell has been cast on me.

A fool I am, but is it not worth it?

For long I held my heart,

From those who wanted I never gave,

Master of my fate until you.

6.

Istep in the flames and you still follow,

From the shattered glass below I see your eyes match mine,

I tend my hand and you do so,

What is it my love you seem distressed!

If we cannot meet in this world then we can meet in the flames,

Once and for all our hearts will be united.
