Colored Skin

IcyOracle

No matter the time that has passed

The color of my skin

Will always be a problem

Time and time again

How this country was built on the back of colored people

Yet so many fought against their recognition

Cultures only began to thrive cause of their creativity

When the colored folk began to dance

Everyone grew mesmerized

Their moves were a signature

That wrote greatness each place it touched

Now the minorities seemed to grow

How their talent flourished

No longer allowing to be suppressed

Taking over television

While others conquered singing

Music became multicultural

Where the color of your skin didn’t matter because of your talent

But yet there’s scenarios a white man will never feel

Those rules repeat by parents for safety

They never endured those long lectures

Instead they debated who can go where

How much you were worth

But yet colored people are the ones who are feared?
