Broken

alahna

The lamp grasped my hand,

Like it understood its destiny,

But it was terrified nonetheless.

It reminded me of him.

It held onto me,

Desperately,

The music rising,

The light falling.

I held its warm hand.

Selfless it was,

A rescuer,

Recently became an enemy.

There was no light

In the end.

There was an only human-like monster,

With red eyes and vengeance.

The lamp smashed across the ground,

Pieces of glass were its tears.

I showed no grief

As I left it in the middle of the intersection.

I refused to live in light

If I couldn’t die in it.

The lamp was innocent,

I was the sinner,

With her black heart.

It reminded me of you.
