Inspirations

Accidental Poet

Got to thinking today of

My inspirations in life

People, places and things

Morning, noon and night

Men like Yastrzemski

Armstrong, Kennedy and Lightfoot

Men who took the world by storm

Gone down in history with high note

Women like Earhart

Guthrie, Whitford and Ride

Brave, competitive and monumental

Be it in race cars or planes sky high

Places like Scituate, Massachusetts

Grand Canyon and Lawson Tower

Spaces deep inside of me

Colorful as radiant flower

Animals of character

Whales, Blue Jays, Dogs and Cats

What they teach us humans

What I wouldn’t give just to chat

Memories of days gone by

Lost in rear-view mirrors

Childhood haunts

 Heart’s flowing rivers
